Study Abroad in Transition Economies: China Program
August 7-22, 2010 - Georgia State University Emphasizing a collaborative rather than competitive learning environment, this international course examines the interrelatedness of economic, political, legal, social, and cultural factors upon cross-cultural management and accounting issues. Concepts of human behavior, motivation, strategy, and labor/management relations are linked to practice in different national settings. Macro-accounting issues, such as business valuation, transfer pricing, and foreign taxation are also addressed. Objectives include cultivating a global mindset and developing a richer understanding of international business challenges relating to management and accounting. Extensive international interviews are conducted at a broad range of organizations and industries. Company visits showcase evolving corporate profiles in the global marketplace. The inter-disciplinary scope of this course facilitates learning from an inter-cultural perspective, where the theoretical and practical are linked through lectures and business/government/university visits. |
